James Halvorson

SFC (ret.) James B. Halvorson was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He enlisted in the Army on 18 January 1985 and attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia.  


His positions and assignments include: Tactical Switchboard Operator Maintainer  and Team Chief, A Co, 127th Signal Battalion, 7th ID (Light) Fort Ord California; Node Center Team Chief, B Co, 123rd Signal Battalion, 3rd ID (Mech) Wurzburg Germany; Communications Section NCOIC, 452nd Combat Support Hospital Army Reserve, Milwaukee Wisconsin; Observer Controller Trainer, 1/338th 2 BDE, 85th Div (TS) Army Reserve, Fort McCoy Wisconsin; Platoon Sergeant, B Co, 86th Signal Battalion ITSB, 11th Signal Brigade, Fort Huachuca Arizona; Tech Control Facility NCOIC, 3rd Signal Brigade, Task Force Triple Threat, Camp Echo, Iraq; Senior Network Operations NCO and Plans/OPS NCO, United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) G6, Fort Shafter Hawaii; Lead Watch Officer Afghan Mission Network Operation Center, NATO, Kaubul Afghanistan;  and Senior Network Operations NCO, Network Control Chief, and Telecommunications Operation Chief C Co, HHBn III Corps G6, Fort Hood, Texas. SFC Halvorson has two combat tours  in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq), and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). SFC (ret.) Halvorson retired from service after 31 years on 1 Aug 2017.

SFC (ret.) Halvorson is married with four children and currently resides in Temple, TX where he is the Business Administrator at Bethel Assembly of God Church.
